“My third goal is to advocate for the return of decision-making powers that the trustee once held. I believe in the division of power and how healthier this is for young people. I think the trustee position must have some type of prerequisite like experience in working with youth either through work or volunteer opportunities.”

“The province has taken away a lot of important responsibilities that the trustee does, so my initial reason was to advocate for more permanent teachers as young people complain a lot about this issue of having too many supply teachers. I believe that trust is important when a child is in school. Building positive relationships with teachers is important in a child’s mental, physical and emotional health.”
