Candidate for Abbotsford-Mission

In their own words

This candidate hasn’t listed a campaign website or social account with the Town. That says nothing about them as a candidate — it just means less of their material is published online for us to summarise.

Where they stand

Every candidate in this race is shown against the same 12 issues, in the same order, whether or not we’ve found something for each one. Why we do it this way.

Healthcare

Will there be a doctor, a hospital, and care when we need it?

This candidate has spoken about this issue more than once. Each statement is shown with its own source.

Says the NDP is working on health care and housing while the Conservatives focus on 'culture wars over the things that matter most'.

  • NDP working on health care and housing
  • Conservatives focusing on culture wars instead of what matters most

Alexis says past 'change' cost Mission its courthouse, ICBC office and nearly its hospital — she'd stand up for Fraser Valley services.

  • In an Oct 22 video posted to her campaign Facebook page (also cross-posted to Instagram @pam.alexis), Abbotsford-Mission NDP candidate Pam Alexis argues not all political 'change' protects communities.
  • She cites the 2002 closure of Mission courthouse services and the Mission ICBC driver licensing office, and the shrinking of Mission Memorial Hospital which moved care to Abbotsford and nearly closed the hospital under a regional model.
  • She promises to 'stand up for the region' and protect what matters most, ending: 'Vote for Pam Alexis on or before October 24th.'
“Change should happen with people in mind, not spreadsheets.”
