Candidate for Langley-Abbotsford

In their own words

This candidate hasn’t listed a campaign website or social account with the Town. That says nothing about them as a candidate — it just means less of their material is published online for us to summarise.

Where they stand

Every candidate in this race is shown against the same 12 issues, in the same order, whether or not we’ve found something for each one. Why we do it this way.

Healthcare

Will there be a doctor, a hospital, and care when we need it?

This candidate has spoken about this issue more than once. Each statement is shown with its own source.

Supports repealing and replacing the HPOA, saying each medical specialty should govern itself without government-dominated boards.

  • Asked by the HPOA candidate questionnaire (Psychologists of BC for Ethical Care and Governance): "Will you commit to repealing the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) and replacing it with legislation, built with the professions and the public, that keeps politics out of health care?"
  • Repeal and replace the HPOA
  • Each medical specialty should govern its own profession
  • The balance of appointed government members on boards is unbalanced
“The HPOA is a reckless piece of legislation. This forces a square in a circle peg. It doesn't work. 1. Each specialty in the medical profession have their own unique areas and do not have the appropriate knowledge to make decisions on the other's behalf. For example, a dentist doesn't know the ins and outs of what doctor knows and vice versa. 2. The government changing the number of professionals with the number of appointed government people is unbalanced. 3. The various colleges were there to protect the public not the government or the doctors.”

Jan says autistic and special-needs children should have funding that meets each child's needs, not cookie-cutter funding.

  • Children with autism and special-needs children should have funding available to them
  • Funding should meet the needs of the child, not be one-size-fits-all
  • Answer submitted Oct 13, 2026; PRE-WINDOW verified earlier miss — questionnaire never extracted before this run
“Children with autism and special needs children should have funding available to them. However, since there are varying needs the funding should not be a cookie cutter funding... The funding should meet the needs of the child.”
