Candidate for Nanaimo-Gabriola Island
Elected — unofficial result
This candidate hasn’t listed a campaign website or social account with the Town. That says nothing about them as a candidate — it just means less of their material is published online for us to summarise.
Every candidate in this race is shown against the same 12 issues, in the same order, whether or not we’ve found something for each one. Why we do it this way.

Points to doubled trades training and VIU worker partnerships, and focusing public dollars on B.C. workers and suppliers.
“With VIU at the centre of our economic driver, for us to have doubled trades training and added specifically for VIU, a number of trades training seats this summer, in addition to the trade centre that we built in 2018, I can so imagine the potential with federal commitments around ship-building, the great opportunities at the Port of Nanaimo. There's very little unused industrial land in coastal B.C., but there we are at the Port. We've got huge opportunities to harness that federal, VIU worker partnership.”

Supports complex-care housing that brings health services into people's homes to break the cycle of homelessness.
“Complex-care housing helps people with overlapping mental-health and substance-use challenges. This new project will connect people in Nanaimo with the services they need right in their homes, to help establish stability and connection, and to break the cycle of homelessness.”

Supports converting 50 units at 250 Bryden St. in Nanaimo to recovery-oriented housing.
“We've been building housing to help people struggling with homelessness get back on their feet, and with several hundred supportive housing units in Nanaimo, we can now offer people more options. Making 50 units at 250 Bryden St. recovery oriented gives people more choice, and I'm grateful to the Newcastle Community Association and city council for constructively partnering on this change. When people are supported, they can start to re-establish stability in their lives and build a better future.”
