Healthcare

Will there be a doctor and a hospital when we need one?

Carol Ann LeMoine wants at least 60 beds and says the current model inequitably concentrates beds in Huntsville.

  • Supports a minimum of 60 acute-care beds; notes Stage 1.3 reduces South Muskoka from 65 inpatient beds to 46 while Huntsville grows.
  • Says all 37 reactivation and complex medical management beds would be in Huntsville under the current plan.
  • Notes labour and delivery moved to Huntsville in March 2025 as a temporary measure.
  • Does not believe the current model provides equitable access for South Muskoka.
